Site5 hosting has gone down hill. I have been hosting one of my main websites on site5 for a few years now but in these last couple months site 5 has really dived in quality and service. Not only has my site been hacked and dodgy scripts dumped inside my websites folders the speed is so slow now and has been getting slower and slower fr quite sometime! It is so important for my site to be super fast because it is a SHOP.. so it goes without saying that speed is really important if I am going to get sales. So I tested my site on a few page speed test tools to see just how fast my site is compared to others and apparently my site is slower than 70% of other website on the net eeeek! This is not good. I know just like the hacking this is not my fault because I always keep my WordPress install, plugins and theme updated and I have not jampacked the site full of huge images and resource heavy scripts.. it is all Site5 fault. At $4.95 for hosting at site5 the speed and all the other problems I am having is just not acceptable!! Does anyone have any good suggestions for some fast and secure hosting I can put my shop on? Thanks guys!

    • I used to host on site 5 and I thought it was really slow especially for the price plus emails from their servers got blacklisted so I scrapped them. I use godaddy hosting now and I have a really heavy plugin packed wordpress site and it copes with it pretty well! Also you can use as many domains as you like so you are not limited to just 1 site which is pretty cool.

    • Site 5 isn’t the only rubbish host around I’m actually having problem with my webhosting at the moment too.. all I can say is avoid Tech hosts as they are totally naff! For one you cannot use ftp at all most of the time because you just get blocked with “421 Too many connections (8) from this IP” and if that wasn’t enough they put these stupid low limits on memory so you end up getting a bunch of “Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 12288 bytes)” and breaks your whole site.
