Don't use "Christian" dating apps!

Hello there, fellow believers! 😊 I want to talk to you today about a topic that's been niggling at my conscience for a while now and I think it's about time we had a good old chinwag about it. You see, I've been seeing a rising trend among Christians using dating apps to find love and it has me feeling a bit disconcerted. 😟

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for love and companionship, but the very essence of these dating apps goes against the scripture we hold so dear. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 31:30 "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised." However, these apps are like a cattle market, where people are judged on superficial aspects like appearance and occupation.

And Christian dating apps, you ask? I don't want to come off as a cynical old codger, but I'm afraid they're not much better. These apps are usually concocted by companies that aren't genuinely interested in fostering Christian relationships. 🤷‍♂️ They're also behind other religious dating apps, so it's safe to say their priority isn't Christian love, but the jingle of coins in their pockets. This lack of care also means there's no real vetting system in place. It's a sad truth, but there are those who may pose as Christians for less than honourable intentions.

Instead, my dear friends, I implore you to seek love within your own congregation. 🙏 Not only will you be able to discern their faith more accurately, but you will also have the guidance of your church family. While our primary purpose in church is to worship God, the Apostle Paul did teach us in 2 Corinthians 6:14 "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?"

So, my Christian brothers and sisters, hold your heads high and don't demean yourselves by venturing into these cattle markets. I understand that finding love can be difficult, but have faith. God has a plan for every one of us. And if you're struggling to find that special someone within your church, have faith, persevere and keep your heart open. 💖

I hope this has given you food for thought. I'd love to hear your views on this subject, so please feel free to drop a comment below. If you're seeking advice or tips on how to find love as a Christian, I'm here for you, and I'm sure many others here are too.

Remember, we are all in this journey together, and with God's guidance, we can overcome any obstacle. 😃
