He’s not out of the woods yet; the investigation into council tax fraud on his second home in Durham is ongoing.

Not to burst any bubbles here… But isnt change.org simply a powerless phishing website set up to gather personal details to spam you and also tries to get you donate to them. Most people arent really aware of this and end up signing these petitions thinking they will help but they dont do anything.

This is the official petition site that with enough signatures the government has to respond to.

      https://petition.parliament.uk/

      and the gov info

      https://www.gov.uk/petition-government

change.org is just a company trying to make money.

Its an easy mistake to make signing one of these fake change.org petitions… I did. Then researched the company behind it and realized that all change.org is doing is trying to grab money… sad really because lots of people are signing/creating these petitions on change.org thinking they aremaking a difference but in reality it just one big waste of time. Thats why im just sharing this so people know!

What do you mean by “this is it”?

There’s no way they’ll sustain the current level of lockdown for anywhere close to that long. Economically, there’s no way the government could do it and practically, I don’t think they could persuade/force enough of the population to stick with it.

Still talking about it and taking measures to deal with it in three years, sure. But not in lockdown.

Although the average lung capacity is 5.8l on average most males only use approx. 2l on a regular basis. Capacity is the volume that can be inflated, at best, with pressure, use is determined by exercise. The more exercise frequently undertaken, the greater will be the lung use. A couch potato may use less than the 2l, so getting off their arse and exercising will rapidly give a large percentage increase. A fit male who exercises hard and regularly will already be near max capacity and so will find a large increase difficult to achieve.

Couch potatoes should be getting out there and trying to do something to help themselves, fit people should continue to try but a little bit harder. We can all improve.

But, there is no “tipping point” where suddenly everything collapses

A lot of electric power grids are too close to capacity and there is very much a tipping point where it all goes wrong. Once the grid goes, everything else starts to go a lot faster…

      E.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northeast_blackout_of_2003 6

By the law of averages the UK will not be the first to relax restrictions

Conversely, if you subscribe to the view that the UK government is converting/building out 20,000 extra beds capacity for this virus, and then wants to keep those beds close to full capacity to push the less vulnerable part of the population through the infection as fast as possible, restrictions are going to have to be relaxed within 10 days or so to keep the infection rate high enough. I’m not convinced they ever abandoned this strategy…

so we should all get to see what happens in other countries when restrictions are relaxed

What happens next depends very much on how responsive, deep and thorough the local “test and trace” capabilities are. It will also depend dramatically on how well we understand who is recovered and immune.

      No.
It appears very much as if Cummings is actually in complete charge, and Johnson and his cabinet merely act as mouthpieces for what Cummings says.

However it’s quite clear the Cummings isn’t a tenth as smart as he thinks he is. I wonder if he is little more than a go-between or an errand boy. If so, the question becomes “who is his puppet master? “ If so, they must be worried that his stupidity is going to compromise their other puppets.
