Hey folks,
Just wanted to put this out there as a warning to anyone considering using Amazon Web Services (AWS) for their hosting needs. Let me tell ya, it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. I recently used AWS to host my online store, and within three weeks, my site was hacked and taken over. I hadn’t even gotten around to properly starting my website; I’d just pointed my domain to a simple placeholder HTML file.
So, I reached out to AWS support, and they confirmed that some hacker had taken control of my entire server. They said it wasn’t my fault, but there was no apology, just a promise that it would be fixed soon. A week passed, and the hacker was still using my site to peddle some spam nonsense. Contacted AWS again, and got the same old rubbish—like they weren't even bothered.
Eventually, I decided to go with a different, more affordable host, and things have been so much better since. Way more bang for my buck and a lot more secure.
This thread is for anyone else who’s had a poor experience with AWS and wants to vent. Let’s share our stories and help others avoid the same pitfalls.
Cheers!
